I think this may be one of the longest short stories in the history of short stories! The author made this read so damn slow and arduous at the beginning and ever so slowly added layers and colors, with the story progressing to somewhat interesting at the halfway point, and only pulling me out of my stupor to have me fully engaged for the last 10% of the book. I'd like to think that the author did this on purpose, tongue in cheek...as the pacing mimicked the theme between the two main characters.One man in the book had to tread through torturous, obscure obstacles to get to unknown events with a man he knew little about. The other man had to suffer as well, having to wait and watch to see if his quarry would overcome the arduous challenges he put in place...all for the sake of denying himself pleasure and delaying emotional and physical gratification until the last possible moment. The man who meets the challenges is rewarded with a day of heartbreaking insecurity and miserable longing in the presence of the man who's main objective is to bring them both to the heights of discomfort and frustration and leave them there for hours. The reasons for this unpleasantness are unknown to him...yet he stays...desperately hoping for a satisfying outcome which he doubts will ever come.That's how I felt reading this! Slow, torturous pacing and obscure details led me on a tedious journey to discover what the whole point of this undertaking is...all the while, feeling reluctantly pessimistic that the reward would be worth the effort in the end...Turns out, it was.Recommended for readers with a high frustration tolerance! Oh. Yummy. Corsets, leather and lace. Now that's a picture I wanna see. So I started this yesterday. Normally I can block out everything when I'm reading. Tv on, kids yelling and fighting, you know normal everyday chaos. Or in this case a U8 soccer practice. But, I was awfully distracted. I read about 10 pages before I just gave up. So this morning I started over with page one. I'm very glad I did. The first time around I didn't really appreciate the whole scavenger hunt game. I was kind of confused. The second time I was able to pick up all the little things what I missed yesterday. And it read easier. I loved the intensity of these guys. Erick was Deliciously submissive, he was a lot of fun to watch. I see Winters reason to want to play with him. Oh god. I can close my eyes and see Erick on his knees balanced so perfectly. With those pink lace panties binding his ankles together, legs bowing as far apart as they would allow. And of course Winters standing behind him with those leather gloves, pulling his cheeks apart! To give us a glimpse of Erick's finger in his own ass. Oh. And the look on Winters face while he is carefully debating and arguing with his need to touch. Yum!!
