Angel Town is book 6 of the Jill Kismet series. I read the first 5 because I got them as a set, however, even as a set, I couldn't finish reading Angel Town. The biggest issue I had with the series is the main characters didn't seem to learn or change or grow, keeping everything seemingly the same and it got to be monotonous. I made it less than 1/4 of the way through book 6 before giving up on it. Angel Town is book 6 and the last instalment in the Jill Kismet books, a dark and gritty Urban Fantasy series written by Lilith Saintcrow. As with Saintcrow's other great series featuring Dante Valentine, I'm sad to see Jill's story come to an end, but happy to say that at least she was ushered out in style.Jill is a kick-ass character with plenty of flaws and insecurities to keep her human. Her love for Saul, the gentle werecat that won’t leave her side, is heartbreaking in its intensity, and one of my favorite urban fantasy love stories. And then there's Perry! Perry is anything but human, he's pure evil genius. One of the most interesting characters I have ever read.Angel Town is pretty much non-stop action from the moment Jill claws her way out of her own grave (and that's not a spoiler, it's written right on the cover). Saintcrows's usual talent for building stomach churning menace is on full display. Jill will stop at nothing to stop Perry and she’ll get help from some expected and unexpected places. Angel Town was an amazing finale to one of the best series in urban fantasy!
