Most books do not hold my attention. This is not the case with most of James Patterson's books. "Alex Cross, Run" is certainly no exception. I loved how there were 3 different lives that all got brilliantly intertwined in one big murder mystery. One of my favorite parts was reading from the view of the serial killers. It really gave a nice perspective on the standard mystery novel. My favorite aspect of the book is that it is an easy read, because if I'm reading something in my free time, I want to enjoy it. Overall it was a very entertaining and engaging book, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes thrilling mystery books. With the Alex Cross series I feel that Patterson lost his way a bit with the series as he concentrated on developing other books but with Alex Cross Run it is a definite and most welcome return to form. Alex Cross has multiple homicide investigations as well as a family crisis and that he is being targeted himself personally by an old enemy. Combined this has everything a great Alex Cross book should have, fantastic murder investigations and a family drama to bring the more emotional side out. And by the end of this book it is very very emotional indeed. Although there are twists and turns in this the reader knows for most of the book who is committing the crime but this in no way detracts from any enjoyment and it is just as exciting to see Alex Cross track the murder suspects down. For any Alex Cross fan this is an absolute must read and I cannot wait to read the next instalment.
