The Town of Sea Haven and it's inhabitants are soo incredibly unique. Christine Feehan manages to keep each story fresh and true to the characters. Air Bound is the latest story set (partially) in Sea Haven. Max and Airia are feisty damaged souls who realize that they have found the other part to their souls in each other. This is a fast paced book, that will make you want to read it all in one seating!! I never give out teasers or plot points (as I hate when other reviews do) but know this.....you might want to grab a couple of tissues because Max isn't as tough as he seems and some parts brought out the sniffles in me :) I was so disappointed by this one that I don't even know where to begin. I should preface this review by saying that I LOVE the Drake Sisters series as well as many other series by this author. I am ALMOST not even excited to meet the next Prakenskii brother... The dialogue in this story is so contrived and forced that it's felt like a cheesy 80's Harlequin Romance. I expect more from Ms Feehan. She knows how people speak to one another in real life but this book felt like a soap opera. For a trained assassin who barely had the beginnings of a childhood and shouldn't know love if it smacked him in the face, he sure is a mushy one! He absolutely did not read as a tough guy! I could barely even envision him as a Prakenskii let alone an imposing force to be reckoned with. The relationship didn't even have time to form! I know that most of Ma Feehan's books have a "love at first site" vibe but this was ridiculous! She hated him and then loved him 2 hours later?! Give me a break! Oh, and please, please, PLEASE NEVER use the phrase "skid marks" in a love scene!!! Ewww!
A go-to series with each new title released...though I confess I now get the characters mixed up.
