After This Night is the second book in the Seductive Nights series. It is necessary to have read the first book, Night After Night to enjoy this one. This will not work as a standalone novel.I confess to being really mad at Clay at the end of After This Night. I do understand his reticence and his bad experience with his ex but his resolute refusal to trust Julia, a woman he has begun to fall in love with really irked me at the end of that book. He should have come over all protective and alpha – after all, a man with a gun had been waiting for her but he refused to even to to understand and give her chance and I just wanted to tell him to grow a pair!So, I began Night After Night waiting for Clay to redeem himself, to make up for us lack of cojones and I’m glad to report that my patience was rewarded.Needless to say that the unrelenting chemistry they shared in the first book is still very hard to resist and they are soon emailing and talking on the phone once more and we’re treated to some truly delicious filthy talking phone sex. Clay is invited to Julia’s sisters wedding and their passion reignites and their incendiary affair explodes back into life but Julia’s past is never far behind and roars back into her life to threaten that fragile happiness they now share.This is very much and erotic romance and there’s multiple seriously hot sex scenes with Clay attempting to dominate his sassy redhead. I enjoyed their banter and their dirty talking but there were times when the both of them frustrated me. Over the course of the two books, both of them have a major trans-continental sulk as the other hasn’t been completely honest with the other. Trust issues abound to mar their very sexy relationship and sometimes I wanted to scream at the pair of them.BUT – this really is a very sexy romp filled with lots of delicious eroticism with a great alpha hero, a sassy kickass heroine, great humour and fabulous dirt-talking. Highly enjoyable.4 dirty-talking stars Julia and Clay have a true sexy connection that both can't deny but Julia feels she needs too, to protect Clay. You could feel the intensity between them from the beginning and it left you needing more. With the sexy banter emails and the very steamy phone sex, Clay makes the first move, which leaves Julia's heart swooning, not that I blame her. Clay is both swoon worthy and freaking sexy as hell. I like that they both have very close family and friends that are rooting for them, hell I was.Clay feels the need to protect Julia but in her heart she feels she needs to prove to herself that she can do anything she puts her mind to. Her love for poker is ruined by the mob thug Charlie but the protector Clay steps in and takes over. You can't blame him for protecting Julia, she is his world which is pretty clear from the beginning of the story.Everything takes a huge turn in their favor when they both get what they want in life.
