This was just a mess. I feel bad everyone who has ever put themselves through this kind of torture. I'm only continuing to read because of a friend. Harry and Tessa keep going through the same cycle. Over. And over. And over. It's monotonous and therefore boring. It's just like every other fanfiction: A nice girl falling for a bad boy and he attempts to turn his life around. The only difference in After is that he really doesn't get any better and she stays in this abusive relationship for what seems like just sexual reasons(disguised as "passion"). The cliffhanger is also boringly written. I didn't even care to read the next because of it but like I said before my friend is making me read it. THIS IS NOT LOVE PEOPLE. There is no soulmate as Tessa keeps suggesting Harry is to her. What she has with Harry is a strong attraction but you can be attracted to more than one person so that made no sense to me. She talks about how she will never love anyone as much as she loves Harry which is ridiculous. Tessa once said that the love novels like Pride and Prejudice and Wuthering Heights were so off base but they were no crazier than this one. This is not a realistic love story and I don't see the point in people reading this and thinking there is some great one true love out there. YOU WILL FIND LOVE but it will not be like this. There was never a second where I thought Hardin and Tessa wouldn't work things out. It all became way too predictable. I find myself wanting her to end up with Zed but I know that won't happen. I don't like how the book shows Tessa has no will power to fight for respect, she claims for it and doesn't end up getting it repeatedly but still goes back to him I would hope that girls in the real world would be able to see that and make the right decision. In the book the "break ups" lasted about a chapter as in 2-5 pages. The book was far too repetitive also I found it giving me a headache towards the end. The only thing at this point that isn't predictable in the book is the last sentence these books didn't need to be this long to have the same things happening over and over again. The books are all about them fighting and getting back together a billion times and then the last sentence is when something new happens, but I bet it's still going to continue this way throughout the rest of the books. I can't even tell you why I gave it a 2 star and not lower considering I didn't say a positive thing in this whole review, but I guess it was okay enough to be past one star.
