It’s her sister’s wedding, and the last place on earth Ruth Ann “Rhubarb” Barbellis wants to be is seated at the children’s wedding reception table, in a bridesmaid dress crafted from the best shop in hell, with Bobby Wichowski. Not only is Bobby her age-old sworn enemy, but he is also the brother of her sister’s new husband, so they are now practically related. At each other’s throats since childhood, as adults their quips directed at each other have sharpened and their blood pressures are escalating by the minute. To escape their pint-sized tablemates, they take to the dance floor, where Ruth Anne observes that Bobby is an excellent dance partner, makes her body feel good in all of the right places, and that the feeling seems to be mutual. Repulsion soon turns into attraction between these two star-crossed lovers. This romantic comedy has many laugh-out-loud moments between the main characters and Ruth Anne’s inner dialogue with herself. It is well-written, but the tempo is a bit too quick, leaving the tale too short, with readers wanting more from Ruth Anne and Bobby. Ms. Tenorio has crafted a hilarious story, and should perhaps consider turning this short story into a full-fledged book. I really enjoyed this to short of a story. Fell in love with the characters right away because I have so known couples just like this one. I laughed at the whole dress nightmare thingy it was just to funny. But being the good Catholic girl that I am I just about died when they were caught by the priest & he passes out. But when when Bobby made his big revelation on how he felt about her you could just imagine her expression. I loved it! It was funny, great character development & a lot of excitement. A lot old fashioned family fun but - Just not long enough.
