This is a short tale devoted to Granuaile, Atticus' apprentice. It demonstrates her growth as a both a character and a Druid apprentice. I read this as an add-on to Hammered". This may vary depending on the version of the novel you are reading. If "A Test of Mettle" is not included in your copy, let me know and I'll help you find it. It should be read to keep the story line intact. For those of you that share my passion for the series, this book is a MUST READ. Needed a quick read so decided to get some of the series novellas out of the way. This is a short... Maybe 25 pages or so.It is different because it is told in Granuaile’s point of view, instead of Atticus. It is a story happening concurrently while Atticus is away at Asgard. It is pretty good but a little too fast and I would've liked to have more of Granuaile's take on everything. She is already "talking" to mother earth which is something I didn't know she could do.Interesting and a good little addition to the Iron Druid universe.
Nice little story, and reassuring that our Druid in training isn't all rainbows and sunshine.

Read this at end of Hammered. I liked getting a story from Granuaile's perspective.
