HOOKED!!! So glad it was free!!!Alexandre is amazeballs - clearly a little damaged yet so amazingly amazing - love him!!! He is young but over the top intellegent. He knows so much and can hold his own wiht the best of the best yet can coem down to the lowest levels and still be charming and lovely. And Ms. Pearl... she is a wonder storng women yet for soem reason lets her brother shit all over her. He is clearly misereable and you know aht thye say about misery... Anyway Pearl is great and strong, she is kind yet stands her ground, she is loving and nuturing. They are pretty great together. So if you do not like the younger man old woman story, then this is not for you. BUT and I mean a huge but here, I have to say age is nothing but a number because seriously Alexandre comes across as the oldest and Pearl is more free spirited and fun, younger acting. I think they are a great balance, work so well together - I cannot wait to get into this series more - I am so hooked like 120% hooked!!!Great start to what I can only foresee as an amazing series!!! This was ok....I was intrigued by the synopsis of a older woman and a younger man but the style of writing is not my cup of tea. Story line has potential but I don't think there's validation when it comes to the characters. Pearl is nice enough, she may be divorced and 40, but she's accomplished and a good person. Her lack of self esteem due to her age difference with Alexandre is understandable but the way she reads into the age difference and her insecurities with his accents was hard for me to grasp and I thought it was over the top how frequently she noticed it.Alexandre seems dreamy with his French ways, totally sweet and thoughtful. Here's what I don't get... why does he like Pearl so much? Her personality seems pretty bland from the book, not that much is revealed about herself aside from her insecurities. We can see why Peal likes Alexandre, he's sensual and able to actually give her orgasms...that's definitely something for her to stick around for. The book reveals a lot of Alexandre and his thoughts...Pearl is always asking him questions and he's always giving her elaborate and compelling explanations so we know how his mind works but he doesn't ask much about her. I thought this is what made the book so one sided...it just didn't seem mutual. The style of writing was a little hard for me...I thought Alexandre's words were too sweet and kind of made me gag...way too tacky for me. And all of Alexandre's talking was a little over the top for me... like I mentioned earlier, Pearl doesn't disclose much of herself so I got really tired of reading only Alexandre's thoughts. Overall ok, but I don't think I will continue this series.
Do You like book A Taste Of Pearl (2014)?
Writing was redundant with way too many info dumps.
