About book A Taste For A Mate (Redwood Pack, #2) (2012)
Willow has no family, all she has is her bakery, so when the hot man of her dreams Jasper finally asks her out she’s over the moon. Only to have her life come to a full stop when she’s kidnapped by werewolves. In one fell swoop her world is changed forever and the only good constant is Jasper. Willow is a strong capable heroine, she doesn’t just roll over and take the hand fate dealt her she fights every step of the way to live the life she wants.Jasper is a great hero, he obviously worships the ground Willow walks on, and would do anything for her but even he can make mistakes. He makes some major mistakes out of fear that set off a very dangerous chain of events. The story is much more action packed than the first, there is an external conflict from outside the Redwood pack and they seriously bring pain and heartache to the story. I liked the way Ms. Ryan set up a lot of the lore surrounding the Pack and the way she uses the lore to propel the story forward. She sets it up beautifully for the next story to continue forward, and on that note while I think this can be read as a standalone, I myself would recommend starting at the beginning of this series and reading them all. This is a love story with real emotions and I highly recommend it.I purchased my own copy. I was not compensated for my review. Rate 4 1/2 stars - Taste for a Mate by Carrie Ann Ryan the second book in her Redwood Series is a very enjoyable read about the love between Jasper, the second son, Beta of the Redwood pack and the beautiful, strong-minded human, Willow. We are also given additional information on the dynamics of the pack, the display of strong emotions by the characters and see the battle growing between good versus evil. This is a very well-written storyline and I look forward to the next brother's possible action-packed and emotional story. (Some improved editing is needed, but it does not take away a very good story.)
