About book A McKaslin Homecoming (2007)

This is technically book 5 of this series of books. But you CAN read them individually without reading the others in the series. I have read books 1, 2, and 3 and they were 'so so' for me but his one I really liked. It was a different setting and the main character didn't seem to obsess over her feelings (like it seemed the main characters in the other books seemed to do). Each book takes one of the adult children and tells their 'story'. This one is of the very youngest child that years before their mother took off with her when she was just a toddler but told her her family didn't want her and she didn't know if she even had siblings when in fact she had four. Her grandmother has now tracked her down and wanted to get to know her again. So she travels to Grans house to put her past behind her and find who she really is...what is a lie and what is truth. What she finds is heartwarming and touching. Very well written. The setting is the country and has horses which I enjoy (versus the city setting) so that just added to me. This series is a nice read, they aren't bad nor are they super good but I don't think you would think you waste your time on them. Each one is a bit different and each one you learn a little more about each family member and how they work as a "unit". But like I stated before you can read these as independent reads. I would recommend this to an advanced pre teen reader. There isn't any language or sex related issues. And actually the main young man is the 'perfect' gentleman of what a boyfriend-young man should be

Jillian Hart is a bestselling author in the Inspirational Fiction. This is my first time to share her work.Synopsis:Lauren has been estranged for from her family all of her life. Only through contact with her long lost grandmother has she accepted the invitation to visit her family. Lauren left with her mother when she was only two years old. Her memories are very vague. Will her family accept her or accuse her of being like her mother? Enter Caleb Stone town cop and friend of the family. Lauren meets Caleb her first day at her Grandmother’s house. They strike up a friendship. Will there be something more?My Thoughts:This novel is another in the Love Inspired series which is a good read. I loved reading the description of the Mckaslin family. Ms. Hart has rich and vivid descriptions of all the characters involved. I found the conflict was woven well into the story but felt less interested in the ending of the novel. Overall I enjoyed the book. The conflict explored in this book is the lost sheep returning to the fold. Lauren returns to a family that she didn’t leave by her choice. She for the most part comes back and is loved by most members of her family. There is one family member that is reluctant to welcome her. This member has issues with forgiveness and moving on from the past. I felt the author showed great strides made by both to come to terms with their relationship.

Do You like book A McKaslin Homecoming (2007)?

First of all, this book was not about who I thought it would be about. In the previous book, Rachel is mentioned as coming home, so I thought it would be about her.Nope! It's about long-lost sister Lauren! I really enjoyed getting to know her, and get a feel for her side of the 'mom leaves, takes 2 year old sister with her' nuances that have been mentioned in the previous books of the series. I appreciated how Lauren was able to learn how to trust, and how to see herself as special, not only in her family's eyes, but in Caleb's as well.

This is the 7th book in the McKaslin Clan series. I wish I had read some of the previous books because it would have been nice to have the full backstory, but if you are like me and just picked this one up, don't worry, you'll get to know the other family members in the series soon enough.Lauren McKaslin is returning to Montana to meet her Gran and other siblings for the first time since her mom ran off with her at the age of 2. There she meets Gran's neighbor and generally nice guy, Caleb Stone. Their blossoming relationship is a delight to read about, along with her getting reacquainted with the family, even some of the more stubborn ones, like her older brother Spencer. This was such a sweet light entertaining read. I couldn't put it down. Now I want to catch up and read all the rest of the books in the series

I know - most of you are thinking "What in the heck is Liz donig reading this stuff! It's not her type of book!" Well, it isn't but it was so bad that it was good. I mean really badly written (redundancy, cliches, not realistic, etc.). When I was on splits with the sister missionaries, an investigator gave them this book to read and I took it because they really don't read much other than BOM on their missions so I read it. I finished it in two hours one evening and felt like I had watched something on Lifetime or the Hallmark channel. Definitely not literature but it was a fun read (and clean!). I did a book cover for another "clean" romance that was similar and they really just crack me up. They're not my cup of tea, but I did enjoy it! It was still better than television but I wouldn't read anything else by this author or this series. I think two clean romance novels in one lifetime is enough!
