Baffled how anyone can give this more than 3 stars. Writing is so stiff and detached, I was amazed how it had been published. Plot construction is horrible. For example, one scene they are at a flea market. A barn of some kind burns to the ground. There's chaos and drama. But what did it have to do with the plot? Nothing came from it other than it was placed there for dramatic effect. Horrible writing on all levels. Would never read this writer again. I can't imagine why she's popular. So many better Amish writers out there. So many much better!
