About book A Beautiful Struggle (2012)

Ok this book was super cheesy!!! At first I really wanted Katrina to be with David! (before she really even met Elliot) However, some best friend he turns out to be! Blah blah he went out with Beth pretty much to spite her and ignored her when she needed him because he was in love with her? The inta-love between Katrine and Elliot was really corny, but they definitely had a super hot connection and I really liked Elliot as a character, he was funny, and genuine, and seemed very sweet (i.e. Going to talk to David because he wanted Katrina to have her best friend back, introducing Katrina to all his friends at the clubs, and I liked the super short scene where he confronted Beth in his office) I was rooting for him!! So I definitely felt a little angry that Lilliana Anderson tried to ruin his character at the end! It was totally out of nowhere and I'm pretty sure my face for the last 10% of the book was like...... O.o haha! After the ending, I am certainly not compelled to read any more books in this series. Katrina, or Trina, just got out of a long and nasty relationship. She's not really ready to date anyone and that's fine with her schedule which includes: training for triathlons, going to university, and her part-time job/internship at a law firm. Plus, it helps that the law firm she works at has a STRICT no dating policy. But aren't some rules meant to be broken?? That's what Katrina thinks after her and Elliot meet. The connection between them is almost instant. Their both attracted to each other, but with the company policy in the way, they have to keep their relationship a secret. Which sucks, but the consequences would be one or both of them losing their job. Now let's talk about the problems. Katrina's best friend since forever, David calls her "babe," and "baby," holds her hand, puts his arm around her, eats dinner with her family, is a complete man whore, and she never figures out that he cares for her? How dense can you get? Also, I know Elliot is swoon-worthy in majority of the book, but Katrina gets out of a horrible relationship and after knowing him a week she thinks being drawn to him is an acceptable enough reason to risk her job, jump his pants, and start spending the night at this stranger's place. Makes sense....And then there's her ex. HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO HANG OUT WITH YOUR EX IN A BAR AFTER TAKING TWO SHOTS WHEN HE TREATED YOU HORRIBLY WHEN YOU WERE DATING?!?! I just want to know...The rest of this review will contain spoilers. I know everyone was disappointed when Elliot got out of the picture, but to be honest, Elliot made me feel uncomfortable. All they ever did was have sex after the first week. And I don't care if it is a company policy, the fact that he wouldn't acknowledge her in the office was rude. They also never went out on dates. Ever. He made dinner for her at his house...after they had sex. They had takeout at his house....after they had sex. And then he took her to a bar which they had sex there, before, and after. There's nothing wrong with having sex, but in their relationship there was no dinner, no movie, hardly any conversation, and this all coming from someone who just got out of a bad relationship? I DONT THINK SO. Also, you could tell right from the beginning that David was perfect for Trina. I mean, they're basically dating anyways, minus the fact that he's not getting any which is why he was a man whore. And knowing that he's not getting any from Trina after knowing her since forever, more props to David.Who needs Elliot the sex craved brat, when you could have David the romantic? I honestly don't see the question at hand.

Do You like book A Beautiful Struggle (2012)?

I loved reading A Beautiful Struggle. I loved it but I also hated trying to get my mind past the crappy dialogue. Reading A Beautiful Struggle reminded me a lot of a teenage version of Bared To You.When I started reading A Beautiful Struggle, I thought Katrina and Elliot were adults. And I believe they still are, but they were portrayed as children behaving as adults. At least that’s what I thought as I read through these pages. Katrina is living with her parents for crying out loud! And David, who is also a major character, is also living with his parents, and they feel like they have to report to them every day! God forbid if they spend the night at someone’s house like Katrina does quite often….but only on the weekends.Another sore point for me was the fact that Katrina seemed highly upset about work gossip with her co workers (talking about her work relationship),who were also acting as if they were in grade school with their catty remarks. But I do have to concede that they may do things differently down under then they do here in the states.Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed reading Anderson’s latest after fully disassociating from how the characters speak and act. One major hurtle overcome. The sex was great though, I’ll give Lilliana that BUT she could’ve pulled a bit more sexual tension off the page, and I think that was due to more telling and less showing.Overall, A Beautiful Struggle is a good one to pass the time with on a rainy Sunday.

I enjoyed this. It is always interesting me to see cultural differences, that I may not always be able to experience personally. Always loved David, even though I thought he was an idiot. lol. No dude puts that much effort into a girl who is not his sister without giving himself away. I was pro Elliot but there was the friendship missing - physical rocks your world but tends to fade when not standing on the foundation of something solid. It is like putting a roof on a house where the walls are not finished and able to support it. Besides if someone can into your head and turn it on it makes the physical 20 times better.
