About book 07-Ghost - Tome 1 (2013)

No words can describe just how fantastic this Manga is. The plot is quite strange, in a good way, and charms you into wanting to read more of it. The character development is astonishing. With each chapter the main character, Teito Klein, evolves and learns new things."Good" and "bad" are very vague because everyone in this story has their reasons for doing something. Some characters even take it too far and end up shifting to one of the sides, completely confusing the reader about which side that person is actually in. Mangaka: Yuki Amemiya and Yukino IchiharaSeries Status: ContinuingClassification: Shojo. It seems more like a shonen, but the magazine something runs in is the main determiner of a manga’s demographic target. This ran in Monthly Comic Zero Sum, which is directed towards female readers. What it’s About: Apparently there’s this kid named Teito Klein who’s studying in this military academy for people who have a special ability called Zaiphon. He used to be a slave, and he doesn’t really remember anything about his early life. Then he sort of does remember something and attacks this military guy, Ayanami. Basically, he eventually ends up at this church thing. There was also this old war between the Barsburg Empire where the story is set and Raggs Kingdom. Look I don’t know! Just go with it.The Good: There’s a lot of potential here. I am intrigued to find out Teito’s backstory, and I would like to learn more about this world. There were some nice bits of comedy here and there. At times, this manga reminded me of Fullmetal Alchemist, which is always a good thing. I found some parts to be very exciting. The Bad: All right mangaka, you don’t need to dump every single thing that could possibly be important in later volumes into the first few chapters. Breathe. Take the time to set up your story well. I’m sure that this manga has a good story, but at times it’s nigh impenetrable. Nothing is explained very well, and everything is just haphazardly thrown at the reader. I’m hoping this was just a case of Volume 1 growing pains.Recommended For: Fantasy fans that are willing to give it time. I also get the sense that BL fans might like this, although it is not a BL series. Let’s just say that Teito has a friendship with someone in the series that I can totally see people taking to the next level in shipfics.Rating: B-Availability: The first five volumes are available from Viz. There was also a 25-episode anime adaptation that is available subbed on Crunchyroll.

Do You like book 07-Ghost - Tome 1 (2013)?

This review contains no spoilers. The first volume will be really confusing and seem random. Later volumes still jump around a bit, but not nearly as much.Plot: I liked it. There are a few really big events that are built up by lots of smaller events that help keep you engaged. The blend of science fiction and alternate-universe fiction is very well executed and unique! I think the religion in it (nuns, gods, the church, etc.) kind of sets up a background for the plot and are not extremely important. It's a nice adventure that also focuses on the relationships characters have with each other without being too cheesy.Characters: I love them. Seriously. They are all unique and you will soon grow attached to them, including the antagonists. They're well-developed, funny... I'd say they're the best-or one of the best-parts of the manga.Art: Not the best I've seen, but still good. The panels are confusing sometimes. Also, the battle scenes are short and to the point, which is a refreshing change but can also be confusing.Note about the ANIME: I have to admit I like the anime better because it's much less confusing and you get to know the characters better. It is slower paced and as thus some people could find it a bit boring, and the art style is a bit different. Unfortunately, the anime only goes up until chapter 25 of the manga.

I love all kinds of manga and love going into all the different genre. This book was quite different than what I have read and watch over the years. It has some comedy in unusual places. Some action mixed in with silliness at some point. An interesting story plot that I haven't read through. Over all I really liked it. It about a boy who is being trained at a military solider. Lots of fights happen and he runs away while his best friend distracts them. He ends up at a church where his life story unravels. Its a cute little story with its action and funny stories. All and all, I enjoyed reading this book and will consider reading the rest of the volumes.
