Tout à fait conforme à ce à quoi je m'attendais après la lecture du blog de Béa Johnson. Agréable à lire, avec plein de petites astuces (j'ai fait plusieurs copies scannées pour référence!) Plusieurs choses toutefois m'ont régulièrement interpelée au long de ma lecture: - les constantes références à l'usage du sèche-linge: ok, l'auteure parle de ce qui fonctionne pour sa famille et les économies d'énergie ne sont pas au coeur de la problématique zéro déchet, mais l'usage de l'étendage/corde à linge pourrait être plus encouragé. - non, tout le monde n'a pas un jardin immense pour y mettre un compost et ceux qui ont la chance de bénéficier d'un ramassage communal n'ont pas forcément le choix d'y mettre tout ce qui est compostable (ex: dans ma commune, ne sont autorisés que les déchets végétaux crus et les coquilles d'oeufs; difficile d'y ajouter mes rognures d'ongles ou les poils des chats!)- pour porter autant de boîtes en verre à longueur de journée, cette famille n'a décidément pas de problèmes de dos! (ah oui, c'est vrai: ils font leurs courses en voiture)Néanmoins, cet ouvrage reste une référence et une excellente stimulation pour une réflexion sur son mode de vie et de consommation. A lire! While I did not read this entire book, it made an impact on how I view my spending, organizing and waste-making habits. The three stars reflect my enjoyment of the author's writing style and ability to share her knowledge. However..... and this is a BIG "however"......, the religious zeal with which the author orders her life is staggering to me. I commend people who possess commitment and discipline. But, the author's entire life seems to revolve around this obsession. I just have to wonder if she is putting this goal ahead of her marriage and her children. I am NOT saying that it is wrong to teach your children about good stewardship. I am NOT even saying that it is wrong to "deny" children some of the things that most of us take for granted. What I AM saying is that I seriously wonder about the impact this will have on her children. What are the ramifications of legalism? The false guilt that these kids will live with as they make their way into the world as adults worries me. This is religion without Grace. Over the top.
