Zombies at Christmas. . . cool and unusual, right? I loved the cover so much. I really wanted to enjoy this story much more than I did. Couldn't feel a connection to the MCs either separate or as a couple. I mean, never even really too sure who Ross was or why he liked Emery (when Em asked, he said because Em was lonely and beautiful?) The zombies epidemic is so sudden and widespread and no thread of explanation, not even a little. Also some contradictions came across to me. But I did like the sweet scene at the end with the sketchbook, and that we are left feeling that they had a safe house at least. 2.5 stars but rounding up for combining the unusual I picked this up for the A-Z Title challenge, as zombies are not really my thing.However, this was a light enough (probably because it was fairly short) read for me, the zombies were there (and in quite graphic detail) but not overtaking the story.A zombie infestation (?) catapults Emery and Ross into a relationship that Emery had thought was only possible in his head but Ross had obviously been working on making real. They go from zero to relying on each other to stay alive in the blink of an eye. Thank goodness for Ross's grandad is all I can say. And lets hope that they survive to get their hot holiday.Rate 3.5*Retead 21.12.14: still quite a fun, though graphic zombie story. The escape from the city is well written, I was seeing it play out in my head.
Do You like book Zombie Wonderland (2011)?
Just to short to become emotionally charged. I liked the concept though.
