I ended up liking this book after having put it down after reading the first few pages. It is pretty dark, in that the entire story flips back and forth between a teenage guy and girl in different cities trying to survive after an alien invasion. Society is gone and anarchy reigns. Both teenagers are trying to survive and things are very scary and tragic.That said, by the end of the book (28 days after invasion)everything is resolved and things look hopeful. However, I thought the "happy" ending came too quickly after bad events. If you read the book, you'll know what I mean when you read the guy's story.All in all, a good, dark story and I wouldn't mind reading a sequel. Wow. This book is very good read. I picked it up on a whim while I was waiting for my son at the library. I started reading it and couldn't get enough. Well written. It drew me into the character's lives and kept pulling me in. I have to admit that as I was getting close to the end, I was starting to get that sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach that the ending was going to ruin it all, but that was not the case. The author was able to close his story pretty nicely.
