About book Women And The Priesthood: What One Mormon Woman Believes (2013)
This was a fantastic and enlightening read. There's so much controversy right now concerning this issue that I really wanted to study it out and learn more about it. What I learned is invaluable to me. My testimony was strengthened as I read this well-written book full of doctrine and educated truths. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more about women and their place in the gospel and how that pertains to the priesthood. This book was an interesting and quick read (like all of Sheri Dew's books) and had a lot of good insights. It didn't delve as much into the doctrine/culture practices, but it definitely read like a summary of Sheri Dew's thoughts. I like reading Sheri Dew and so liked the book. I don't feel it necessarily answered a ton of questions, but it was worth a quick read. I was disappointed at the end with the feeling of "just have faith and if you don't, well something is wrong with you." Normally I appreciate Sheri Dew's frankness, but it struck me as dismissive and curt this time. All in all, worth a quick read but don't depend on the title as it really is not about women and the priesthood, just women in the Church in general.
