I honestly can't decide if I liked this book or not, LOL! I mean, I was really into it up until about 90% and then something happened and I was just What. The. Fudge.???? And I was so pissed off by this plot twist that I honestly didn't even want to finish. I even took a little break.During my break from the book, I thought about things and where the story might go and I had a hunch about how things would end ... and I was right. I didn't want to be right because that was the very last thing I wanted to happen. But it did. Now, did Jenni "make things right" in the last 10% ... no. Not really. But it wasn't as bad as I thought. I'm still pissed as all get out with the ending because I LOVED everything leading up to the "point of no return" as I shall call it. I so wanted things to play out a certain way and they did not. *sigh* It was Jenni's story to tell and, well, I suppose I have to respect that.If you enjoy books that piss you off and bitch smack you when you least expect it, this is definitely the book for you. I didn't really like this book as I was reading it. I felt like I was being strung along,waiting, expecting...what? I didn't know! I felt frustrated. Ok, so this plot started out as the basic run of the mill plot. The main character's name is Grace, a wife in her mid thirties, happily married, a stay at home mom, volunteers 3 days a week at a soup kitchen that was originally founded by her mother. Now what I thought was supposed to be the kicker in the plot, the heat so to speak, was the hot youngish Priest who worked side by side with her in this soup kitchen, hence the name: WITH THE FATHER.So....I read , and read, and I read some more, wondering when in the heck is the "action" going to start happening? Well it did, I'm talking big time Kleenex and wailing on my part action! Tears falling and puffy eyes on my part action! Not the heat that I wanted! I'm thinking now is the time for the "good" Father Hottie to step in and do some "consoling"! But no such luck! Instead we get Kate, sister of Grace, who is also in the mix and sticking her nose into the action, messing up my plan for Grace and Father Hotstuff!! So on and on it goes, I'm almost done with the book, no "action" that I was hoping for to speak of but.........a twist! I'm talking major brain teaser twist and turn and spin on your heels twist, whoa! What is going on, what just happened!? Now, this book that I didn't really like, I all of a sudden can't stop thinking of and now I'm starting to really like now that I'm done with it, go figure..... I'm giving it 5 stars!
