I decided to pick this book up at my library after having loved Princess Ben (also by the same author). This book follows a nontraditional manner of storytelling. The entire book is told through the use of plays, diary entries, letters, and monologues recounting the past. There are multiple POVs, which at first threw me through a loop, but after I got used to it, this method grew on me. This is a very light-hearted story compared to Princess Ben, and a very fun read. Took me a while to get into the format written in encyclopedia articles, letters, and play scripts. But once I figured out who everyone was (the virtues names made it a little confusing at first), I got more caught up in the story. I'm a sucker for love stories involving childhood friends, but I think this story made me more interested in the other characters as well. Interesting reading and trying to figure out what was going on, since the characters' journals and letters only showed what they knew was happening. Wished we could have seen more from Temperance's point of view though. Also felt like the ending was a bit rushed, like everything and everyone moved on rather quickly. This is another one of those books where I only sort of like it while I'm reading, but when I'm done, I like it a lot more. Should reread Princess Ben.
Do You like book Wisdom's Kiss (2011)?
Cheesy and kinda predictable but decent. Writing style a bit odd/confusing.
