What an odd mix of stories to have in one volume. None of them are really the same genre or even heat level, so it's sort of a hodgepodge. There was "The Blushing Bounder" by Meljean Brook, which is a steampunk romance. I think the anthology is worth reading for this story alone. Meljean Brook was the first author to get me reading steampunk, and I enjoyed the story. I would give "The Blushing Bounder" a 4 rating."Vixen" by Jill Myles, was what I would call an erotic shifter romance. It contains a menage and doesn't really have much of a plot outside of the heroine lusting after and ultimately having sex with the two heroes."Kitten-Tiger & The Monk" by Carolyn Crane was an urban fantasy/dystopia romance. I haven't read the rest of the series, so I was a little thrown by the mention of "sleepwalking cannibals," but it was definitely a unique and entertaining story. The Blushing Bounder by Meljean BrookAnother story from the Iron Seas this time about Constable Newberry and his wife. Temperance has the consumption and has resinged herself to her fate. She meets Newberry patrolling the park where she takes her wards to play after striking up a friendship he learns of her fate and completely out of character he kisses her infront of everyone and thus ruins her. Her father gives her two choices marry the man and move to London (and out of society) or spend the remainder of her years working on her back. As Newberry fights to save the woman he loves and get her to take the evil nanoagents that will save her life (but turn her into a zombie when she dies) he must also watch over Inspector Mina and protect her from the citizens of London bent on hating her for her race. A sweet love story about misunderstandings and proprietry. For anyone who has read Iron Duke this is a great little peek into the mind and life of Mina's assistant Constable Newberry and shows us a glimpse into the world of the bounders. Vixen by Jill MylesMiko is a kitsune, a were-fox and as such she has a rampant libido. Uncomfortable with her nature Miko has shut herself far away in the country away from the opposite sex and looses herself in her job as a comic artist. When a fox hunting party starts hunting in her lands she is put in real danger and her mother sends her two gorgeous cat-weres to protect her, and awakens her vixen nature.A very racey story with some male-female-male action about accepting who you are. Kitten-tiger & the Monk by Carolyn CraneSophia is a memory reviser, she can erase peoples memories as far back as a whole day and replace them with anything she wants, or leave a blank. Since she was a small child she has used her powers to help her Mob boss father with his evil doings, she even revised her lovers memories to aid her father. After years of living with her guilt Sophia wants a reboot. Rebooters can change the most heinous criminal into the most upstanding citizen and the Monk is the best. A sweet little love story about righting past mistakes and creating a future.
