About book WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange's War On Secrecy (2011)
I am glad I optioned for the audiobook version, I probably would not have finished reading it on my own. It was an interesting listen most of the time, but my snail pace reading would have left me disinterested. I gave the audiobook a try because it is an important part of our history that will have precedence in our future establishing protocols to be followed when dealing with government secrecy and transparency. This is probably the most comprehensive account of Wikileaks that I've read so far, but because The Guardian was actually a participant in events, rather than just reporting on it after the fact, it's hard to take its portrayal of everyone else failing to live up to ideals around The Guardian's noble behavior at face value. Still, I thought it was well-written and complete, and pretty easy to follow, despite the messy narrative.
