About book White Horse (2012)

For me this book was confusing as it kept skipping to present day and then the past. The author didn't really explain what that jar actually was -if anyone can enlighten me please do!- it completely puzzled me, was it meant to reference a kind of pandora'a box, open it all hell breaks loose and a weird virus spreads throughout the country? Where was this jar during her journey? What happened once she found her loved one? What happened to the virus? So many unanswered questions that ran through my mind when finishing this book. The cliffhanger to this book was torture, for me it didn't explain enough to create a second book to carry on the story. Although this book was a tad monotonous at some points and lost me a bit in the middle it was still a good read and if i was to read it again I may understand the story a little bit more but I will not be re-reading it in a hurry. A mediocre entry into the ever-expanding genre of post-apocalypse fiction. The first 150 pages or so read well and then the villain becomes so outlandishly and cartoonishly evil that the book just falls apart and is hard to take seriously, and the final reveal is just shockingly ridiculous. The flashbacks to the plague (helpfully labeled "Then") are better than the "Now" trek through Europe Zoe is on. The stakes, like much of the book, don't seem real or realistic. There's a lot of promise here writing-wise, but the plotting and character development needs definite work. Not planning on reading the next two books of this in-progress trilogy.

Do You like book White Horse (2012)?

Even if I hadn't loved every minute of reading this book, it was all worth it for the last sentence.

Not a bad start, but I feel like it nothing really happened and a bit too neat at the end.

I did not like the way the chapters went back and forth between past and present.
