Faith is a caring, responsible young woman who loves her grandfather and longs for a fresh start. But she isn’t perfect – she tends to let her own desires overrun her good sense at times. Her imperfections make her even more likeable and realistic. Curt Saxon has his own secret weakness, and his struggles tugged at my heart. I thoroughly enjoyed Where Wildflowers Bloom, especially since I’d previously read book three in this series. It was fun to get reacquainted with these characters. I highly recommend this book (and the series) and give it five stars. Where Wildflowers Bloom by Ann Shorey is the first book in the Sisters at Heart series. Set just after the Civil War, the book follows the life of Faith Lindburg, detailing her desire to move west, her love interests, & her friendships. It is a great book for some light reading, to settle down with a cup of tea & read for pure enjoyment. I got the Kindle edition for free, & now will have to find the sequels to learn more about Faith & the other characters. It was an enjoyable read, but over too soon. I was glad to find another author of historical fiction to read. I will look for more by Ann Shorey.
