THOUGHTS:2The beginning had me interested enough to keep me reading but about 50 pages in and Gabby is still in the freakin hospital I begun to realize that this was going downhill. First of all, this could have been a really good book but one of the utmost important factors of a good book is the characters. All the characters in this book were so flat and one-dimensional. Honestly, Gabby herself, was enough to make me fall asleep. She's stupid, has the attention span of a peanut, and you begin to question if she actually has a thought process. Her whole entire life revolves around Billy.I know that the synopsis hints at some mystery but where is it? I can't seem to decipher any type of plot from this book. It had no flow whatsoever.Furthermore, the writing just bothered me. It was like a mix of telling instead of showing and repetition over and over again. Overall, just a poorly written book. (I felt the need to write an actual review because lately I've been slacking...sorry!) “Where it began” is a realistic fiction story that has sort of a twist of: romance, problems involving the police, family members and doctors. Thru these themes the book is based on. Gabby, the main character, is the only child in her family; with divorced parents –an alcoholic dad and a fashion-lover mom that doesn’t give a damn about her daughter’s feelings has to deal everyday with their fights and their “problems.”Vivian only cares about what Gabby wear to go out, and hide her natural beauty with lots of makeup just like she does it everyday. The problems occur when Gabby got in this dangerous car accident; she was driving drunk. So, she tries to drive to her house but she never arrived. That night, she arrived at the hospital. Gabby wakes up. She opens her eyes, and all the doctors were staring at her trying to figure out who is she; the doctors start asking her if she remembers something about what happened; but the only thing she can remember is her popular, rich and handsome boyfriend Billy Nash. Billy is the love of her life. The teenage boy was at the same party that his girl attended -also he got drunk… neither of them had the conscious of doing the right thing. Now both of them are in a strict supervision with the police.The only thing they can do together without breaking the police rules is go to school; meanwhile, their parents are solving their offspring’s problems and searching for help with lawyers. This book is classified for young adults; but everyone no matter what age you are, can read it and understand it. The story is trying to transmit awareness of how alcohol in our body can affect our lives, and not only our life’s but also our parents life. Gabby was able to know who where the persons that really loved her and the ones that only where there to take something back from her. I recommend this book for people that want to be learning something useful while reading; also for teenagers that had sort of a problem going on in their lives at the moment ¬–it can be family issues, confusedness of your relationship or just typical school problems. This book includes many situations that us as persons can relate thru it. By reading this book you realized that you cannot change what you did in your past but you can change your future; accepting your problems and taking the consequences of what you did.

Fun, teen, beach read. Finished in one day. The ending was surprising so I appreciated that.
