This book was alright. It felt like the typical demon/angel pairing though. One look at the beautiful glowing angel girl and the supposedly bad demon is transformed.I'm kind of tired of these bad boys saying how awful they are but instead of showing it, we just hear about their past brutality. It seems like they become a monk once the spot the girl.On the other hand - would we fall for a hero if we saw that? I don't know, never the less it felt predictable.Nck was the interesting character to me. For all Serena's concern and dedication to being his guardian angel she left him alone a lot. lolOh well...not bad. Definitely sexy but not a stand out for me. I saw this book and thought...yeh another one! But hell I'll read it anyway. Well how wrong was I !!Fledgling guardian angel and yoga teacher Serena St. Clair dares to enter Devil’s Paradise nightclub on a mission—to retrieve the wayward Hollywood “It Boy” she’s assigned to protect. But she’s ambushed by the club’s owner, arch demon Julian Ascher. The most powerful demonic entity in Los Angeles, Julian is handsome as sin, a master of temptation who loves nothing more than corrupting pleasure-seeking humans. He won’t release the lost soul Serena is supposed to guard. Unless she accepts his dangerous wager......Serena is an angel who is good and Julian is a powerful demon full of bitterness after the way his human life ended. This book is filled with a battle of wills between a worldly demon and an innocent angel. Both Julian and Serena are likeable characters and I found the tension between the angel heroine and demon hero a real page turner.Highly recommended and will be reading the sequel.
