I am glad I do not take others' book reviews as gospel, if I had I would not have chosen to read this book. It was a quick, easy, fluffy kind of feel good book. I am glad I read it, I will continue to think about this book for awhile after having finished it, and I definitely would have read any follow up books that were to have been written. (I have read online that the author has chosen to not write any more books continuing this story, as originally planned...) Was it life changing? No. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. The story and characters were really interesting. However, the ending was too abrupt for my taste. I would have loved to have seen all the main characters of the book come together at the end in some way. It would have tied it up really nicely, especially since she spent so much time on each person's story. Instead, I was left wanting. Maybe that was the author's purpose so she can write a sequel? Even if true, I prefer an ending with at least some closure. This wasn't a horrible read at all. But I would probably not seek out this author for further books.

Has a very "Practical Magic" feel to it. Starts slow, but keep reading...it's well worth it!
