About book What Do You Want To Do Before You Die? (2012)
I enjoyed the TV show they had, so I figured the book wouldn't be any different. They did talk about a few moments where they accomplished something on their list, but they also shared the stories of the people they helped. And other wishes of people who knew what they wanted to accomplish before they die. It's a very quick read, but the feeling the want to convey in this book is long lasting. They definitely inspire a lot of young people and include stories of other young inspiring people. "If nothing in the world were impossible, what would you do?"This book is fabulous. I really enjoyed their show, "The Buried Life" and this book is along the same lines.For those who haven't seen the show, the premise is that they made a list of 100 things they wanted to do before they die. Things like, "Sing the national anthem to a packed stadium" or "Play basketball with President Obama". They were all big dreams that the four of them didn't have any idea how they could do it. But the big catch was that for every item they cross of their list, they have to help a stranger cross something off theirs.This book tells the story of how they got their group together and how they decided to make the list. It also shares various stories of people who they helped to achieve their dreams. The biggest portion of the book is a sampling of items that individuals have submitted from their own bucket lists, there are silly items like "swim in jello", serious items like "save a life" and just plain awesome ones like "walk away from an explosion in slow motion."This book shows the power of a dream. It shows that you really can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.As the book says, "Never tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon."
