About book What A Goddess Wants (2011)

While this book wasnt exactly bad...every part of it was well...utterly boring. The goddess wasnt really powerful enough to be interesting she was pretty meek and bland and to me just faded into the background. Same thing with the hero (though he wasnt meek) he wasnt especially alpha or especially sensitive or anything that would make him stand out as an interesting character. The romance may have been well developed i didnt notice it though because i really wasnt invested in the couple. The sex scenes themselves were great but the fact that there was at least one every...single...chapter made lessened their excitement. The plot was moderately interesting but all of the best parts were sort of skimmed over to make it to the next sex scene. The writing otherwise was decent and the author created an interesting world but as a personal preference thing i dont like having to flip back to a glossary all the freaking time to try and remember what made up word means what. I kept reading hoping the plot would live up to its potential but in the end none of the scenes really got my juices pumping and the ending was really limp noodle. Definitely wouldnt recommend-to me it felt like a waste of time-and i wont be reading any more by this author. What a change from most of the books I've been reading! This is totally not for my children to read until they are much older...and even then, I am not sure if this is a book that I would feel comfortable sharing with my child. I randomly picked this book because it was available for download from the library and I was intrigued with the title. So, after the shock of the curse words and sexual situations (granted I was expecting a different book, more in line with the young adult genre), I got caught up in the storyline. The idea of obsolete gods and goddesses because the Roman gods/goddesses had similar powers...that did cross my mind since I could never keep straight Jupiter versus Zeus or the Greek versus Roman gods. This book dealt with a set that I wasn't familiar with at all, but I recognized their powers. It was a fairly quick book to read and totally housewife porn in my eyes...a guilty pleasure read for me and it is highly likely for me to pick up the next book.
