I think I'm pretty annoyed with this one. The entire beginning and more than halfway through the book it was just Jude and Ellina fighting their attraction to one another but after the first fifteen pages of that it was like beating a dead horse.I did enjoy the story and the plot line but the ending left much to be desired. The confrontation at the end was barely that. It wasn't very dramatic. There was no suspense and it fell flat. I did like the supporting characters and thought they were well done. Especially, the twins. I love how they're twins but negatives. So inventive. It had really good points but it wasn't all that exciting. I like a little suspense. I'm glad I read it and I feel like it has lots of potential but it was just ok for me. 3.5 StarsThis is in my "Smut-stories-with-bad-no-plot" shelf. Up until the very Very end, I would have thought this book was destined for the "smut-stories-with-good-plot" shelf. This is my first Kathy Love book so I can't compare it to her other works, but I loved her characters! And the smut wasn't abrupt. Rather there was build up, and it felt real! (Which is probably why I'm reviewing. I have to justify to myself why its only 3 stars...I realllly wanted to love this book!!) It had some 'lust at first sight' factors involved in it, however Kathy went about turning that initial reaction to actual feeling-induced lust/love. Loved that part of it. X3HOWever, the plot kind of fell out from under me right before the end. I mean LIterally fell. It was there...and then everything was wonderful with the world and everyone was happy. I was kind of put out. I knnnnow this is primarily a smut book, but still. I was left with with the feeling like "Huh? You just.. He just.. And you all just..." wondering how everything just magically worked out and no one was going to make a big deal out of the entire situation. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who's looking to read the book-and like I said earlier I loved the characters and just about everything else-but for me the reason why this is a 3 star instead of a 4 is because I felt let down by the conclusion, and how Kathy had the characters (especially Jude) reacted to the situation; which to me did not fit how they behaved leading up to said conclusion. That being said, her characterization was lovely, and I will probably be reading some of Kathy Love's other work, looking for that same sizzly building of tension. Do You like book What A Demon Wants (2010)?
This book was fun. Pretty easy to figure out and kind of a quick read, but still fun.
