About book Watching The Clock (2011)

This story takes the characters of Agents Dulmer and Lucsly and their agency, the DTI (introduced in the DS9 episode, "Trials and Tribblations") and runs with them. It does an excellent job of fleshing out the characters and the Organization that they work for, produces an interesting plot with good pacing, and generally does an excellent job of fitting the lot into the background Star Trek universe.Highly recommended. This was a great concept, but very poorly executed. There seemed to be little in the way of an overall plot, just self contained episodes interspersed with endless dialogue. It also was very obvious that the author researched every single episode of any Star Trek series that involved time travel, and was determined to mention each and every one of them in the course of the story. Occasional references to events we all remember from the various series is kind of cool, but overdoing it just makes it seem desperate.I couldn't finish this. Maybe at the end it all tied in together, but it just wasn't worth it to me to invest the effort necessary to find out.
