The end of this book was so shocking this were revealed that I thought would never be. In the end, Anne Smithfork finds out about the whole story. The kids tell her the whole story from start to finish. They retrieve all the symbols and Patrick goes behind the walls for the final time. Joe Torrio has won over all of their trust and has proved himself innocent. Patrick presses all the right symbols and the wall falls fowards. Out, comes a large painting. Eloise knows that this is not the final treasure. The painting is of the rooftop of the apartment complex. This is the last clue into finding what happens. They all go to dinner at the Smithforks apartment and Torrio reveals that he is actually Julian post, Eloise's long lost brother. Everyone is speechless nobody ever thought that this would happen!!! It is such a big twist in the book and it was very unexpectant!! That night they go to the rooftop to find the treasure. They use the key to open a water tower and inside there is a huge room. They walk inside and it is filled with gold, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds!!! This is the treasure that they have been waiting for!! I'm so impressed that they solved the mystery and found the treasure! Nobody was able to solve it for years and i can't believe that they actually have. I think that Brid, Cj, and Patrick are very clever and they are also very determined. They did whatever it took to solve this mystery and to put and end to the thing that was haunting Eloise her whole life. They are also very caring towards Eloise they show her support and I can tell that they desperately want to help her. This book was really good and Im so happy to have read it This book had such potential and the ending spoke of sequels that maybe would have expanded the story-but were never written.
