I started this book at a bad time of the year; just before Thanksgiving, which included a baby shower for my daughter, my birthday and Christmas shopping. I laid it down and picked it back up just this week. I found many similarities between Alan and myself and my family. First, Alan's Dad and I were both born in 1953. Alan was born in 1979, as was my daughter. My brother also has walked all over the state of Florida and lived many years in Marathon Florida as well as Key West, so a lot of the things and places mentioned are familiar to me. Allen's dad died on November 2 which is my dad's birthday. And in 1972 my boyfriend was in Viet Nam, as wellI. I can't Believe the first book in the Walk series that I read was the last book in the series. Now I have to find the others. It's a great book. This book series is one of my favorites that I have ever read. Much like the main character when he reaches key west....i feel like I've been on a huge journey and now its just over.Filled with stories that range from heartbreaking to big smiles, there was always something happening that made it hard to put down. The lessons he learned and the people he met along the way are such a beautiful representation of America and humankind in general. Love this, love the story, i would recommend these to any and every one.
Do You like book Walking On Water (2014)?
This was the fifth in a series. Wish I had known and read the others in order.
