About book Volcrian's Hunt (The Cat's Eye Chronicles) (2013)

No! Why did it end?! When it was just starting to get good between two certain people! Wonderful read, very well passed. Previous books focused more on just Sora's POV, but "Volcrian's Hunt" offers more from the perspectives of other characters, both a welcome change and slightly irritating one as at times I just wanted to read more involving two certain characters, lol. Looking forward to "Ferran's Map"! I had recently finished Viper's Creed and that left on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I couldn't wait to dive into book 3 because I always enjoy the adventures Sora and Crash have together (and no, I didn't forget about Burn, I just prefer Sora and Crash..hehe!) This book continues from where the second book left off, where Crash, Sora, and Burn are sailing towards the Lost Isles to defeat Volcrian. Where to start? Well, this book was absolutely amazing! I enjoyed every page, every chapter, every word, well you get the idea. The first two books, I didn’t exactly feel that wow factor, it could have been due to the romance build up because I like my books to have romance. This third book was just perfect. There was the romance, the action, the drama, the journey aspect, and much more you could hope for in a book! In the beginning of the book, in the prologue, you learn a bit more about Crash’s past and that’s what I enjoyed about this book, you learn more about his past and what Crash really is (and he is no ordinary human, I tell you!). I really enjoyed the part of the book where Crash tells Sora everything about who he was and what he is. No more secrets..for now. Like I said, this book has a journey aspect to it and I always enjoy going along for the journey because there are always obstacles in the way and you’re always wondering what’s going to happen next and whether they are successful in this journey or not. The romance…one word: FINALLY! I really enjoy Crash and Sora’s relationship, they bring out the best in each other and they always look out for each other. You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for them to finally kiss and I can happily say that it was well worth the wait! I do think of it this way though, with all of the build up and the little moments they share, it leads to something amazing when it finally happens! I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book with them! Their romance gave me many feels, and there were moments they shared when it seemed like something was going to happen but nothing did and it was one of those moments where I wanted to throw my ereader across the room, but I can't cause that thing is expensive and no way am I buying another one, nor do I have the money to. So yes, many feels. Look out for that and beware of throwing your book or ereader across the room. The ending..it was beautiful! All I will say is that it gave me feels, feels are always good! No cliffhanger, so yay! I can't wait to see what happens in the next book! THE CHARACTERS:Sora- Sora is one of the few female leads I actually like. If you've been reading this book from the beginning then you know how much Sora has changed from being that spoiled rich royalty girl to a girl who's just trying to survive this incredibly long journey with her friends, and don't forget the part where she can kick some ass (not as well as Crash, but still..don't mess with Sora!) I loved seeing the progression of Sora throughout the books, it's made her into a stronger woman. I also loved seeing her thoughts when it comes to Crash, she really cares about him and that's when her feelings for him start to blossom because he does get into a lot of danger and she's always saving him as he is saving her.Crash- Oh, what to say about this lovely gentleman? I love Crash, I can't get enough of him. In the beginning, he was this mysterious assassin that was sent out on a mission to kill the king and eventually ends up kidnapping Sora and that's one of the reasons why I love this book, I just loved seeing the bond that Crash and Sora share, they bring out the best in each other. Although Crash is very stubborn, that much hasn't changed, but if you've read this from the beginning, you can tell Crash has changed a little bit because of Sora. He's always wanting to protect her and save her whenever she's in danger. I loved seeing into his head when his POV was written because it gave me all these feels. You see how much he cares about Sora and no woman has ever made him feel this way probably like ever because Crash isn't the type to get involved with women. You get to see more of Lorianne, Sora's mother, as she is on her own mission to get the book that tells them how to get the weapons back to the Underworld and she travels with Ferran and all I will say is I see something that can happen between them, so I demand some shipping in the next book between these two! Lori is a strong woman, I can see where Sora gets her headstrong-ness from. Ferran appears in book 2 and he is this treasure hunter, or former treasure hunter, and Lori goes to him for help and well the rest is history. Even though Lori sometimes act like Ferran annoys her in a way, he starts to grow on her the longer they travel together. I find it funny how even though Lori has known him for many years, she doesn't know much about him, I think it's because they haven't seen each other in years and they went their separate ways. And Volcrian makes a return in this book, hence the title of the name. I have to say, I felt a little teeny tiny bit of sympathy for him because he wasn't planning on the darkness taking him over so much that he gets consumed by it. He is still a villain, don't get me wrong, but I do feel a little bad for him. For like a second, then it's gone because he's evil. Very evil. There's Burn of course, and Laina. Laina..I'm not sure what to say about her, but I don't like her. I thought she was adorable at first, following Sora around like a lost puppy and I could see that Laina liked Sora in a friendly manner, but something does happen in this book and it's made me not like Laina anymore. You also get to meet the race of the Harpys and there are also the Dracians. You learn a lot more about the races in this book and that's another thing I loved about it, it was very interesting learning about all the different races.OVERALL: I give this book 5 stars! Ever since book 1, I knew I was going to be sucked in for the ride. This book had it all, the action, the journey, awesome characters, romance, plot twists, mystery, secrets revealed, and just about everything you could ask for in a book! I am definitely excited to see what happens in book 4! I recommend this series if you love fantasy and journeys in books like I do!
