About book Vitro (2014)

Being as I read Origin months (maybe even a year) ago, I couldn't see how this tied in as the second book continuing the series. I would put this book as a stand alone along with Origin. I gave Vitro four stars because it honestly was hard for me to pick up where I left off. I struggled to continue reading to the next chapter every time I picked it up. I felt like there was something missing. It had a very good story all together but I had no idea there would be a completely different main character and sub-characters. I was expecting to see Pia somewhere but never did. The only thing it had similar to Origin was the whole scientists in a scheduled region working on something that could ruin the world if in the wrong hands. I hate to say it, but I kinda expected more. Sorry, but that's how I feel about this one. It was a good story but it threw me off with the whole series thing. -Danielle I loved Origin, so I really had to read this. However, I felt like this book kind of paled in comparison. Maybe my opinions on this book are mainly influenced by the fact that I loved Origin so much, that I had set up an impossible standard to beat, but I sort of felt like this book was not that great. It was still good, but it felt kind of cliche in some parts. Especially Jim's character. He had huge promise, but he just became a character with a very overused cookie-cutter personality. You know the one. Sarcastic, "funny", overconfident, extremely brave, honorable, strong morals, handsome, prime example of a Gryfindor, a tad bit cocky. It felt like the author was trying a bit too hard to make him likable. However, the rest of the book was great. I loved Lux, she was a wonderful character, and despite what had been done to her, she still managed to be her own unique character. I would say, that though it had its flaws, it was still a good book that I would recommend for you to try.
