O carte inovatoare, neîncadrabilă într-o categorie (cum am mai citit pe aici). Nu pot să-mi dau cu părerea despre partea politică a acestei cărţi, dar ca multe altele, poate fi aplicată oricăror vremuri. Frica, teroarea, aşteptarea...şi-au făcut simţită prezenţa, atât la oamenii grotelor("dacă va ploua?", "dacă vom muri de foame?") , cât şi la adolescenţii cu IPhone("dacă mi se termină bateria?", "dacă mi-l va fura cineva?"). Într-o lume perfectă, aceste stări par superficiale, dar distopia din carte prezintă maximul temerilor. Cunoscând răutatea pur, răul de zi cu zi nu te mai atinge. Asta face cartea lui Octavian Paler. Te întăreşte, te face mai puternic indiferent de anul în care o citeşti. Este, deci, o carte demnă de Epoca Contemporană.Cel mai mult mi-a plăcut conceptul clopotelor de sticlă, deşi primul meu gând a fost "Clişeu!". Apoi au mai fost şi pasajele cu cobre şi cu câini (câţi oameni nu se tem de aceste creaturi?!). Sufocante, ar spune alţii! Eu aşteptam nerăbdătoare un pasaj cu îmblânzitorii de cobre sau cu dresorii de câini.Societatea s-a schimbat. Acum nu e nevoie să stingă lumina pentru a nu respecta legea. Cer să se facă lumină şi sper că atunci când o să am un fluier lângă mine nu îl voi folosi!"Doamne, apără-mă de mine însumi!" This is a strange book that not everybody will like. It’s sort of a given that not everybody that reads a book will like that book, but this is one of those books that often makes you either hate it or love it. It is a strange book, but it is my kind of strange. That’s why I belong to the group of people that liked this book, not in spite of its strangeness, but because of it. I won’t give it five stars because it’s not an easy book; it’s a philosophical book, a book with heavy thoughts, ideas and things you need to digest, to understand, and, for most people, or me at least, that’s not something that can be done after just one read.I particularly liked the core message of the book, which can also be found in the book’s title, not because of the strangeness, but because of the truthness of the idea of life being just a platform. It’s hard to get your head around that and the majority of the book, so if you don’t want to read some heavy sincere stuff, you probably should avoid this book until you think you are ready, because you’ll probably end up hating this book just like you hate everything else that you don’t feel up to just yet. It might surprise you, either in a negative or a positive way; it’s a risk you take with this genre. It was mostly positive for me and that’s why I recommend this book to everyone – you should read it at least once while you are waiting for your train.
