Nadat ik wat minder enthousiast was over het vorige deel van de Jordan/Hill reeks, ben ik nu wel weer enthousiast. Goed verhaal, actueel ook omdat de slachtoffers via het internet (social media) worden gevonden en ook de persoonlijke verhalen zijn weer wat uitgediept. Ik ben meer te weten gekomen over het leven van Tony Hill, over waar hij vandaan komt. Ik ben erg benieuwd naar het laatste deel uit deze reeks. Dit deel krijt in ieder geval 4 dikke sterren van mij! If you are a fan of the Tony Hill/Carol Jordan series, this installment is not to be missed. While not as dark as the previous books in this series it is every bit as intriguing as McDermid takes this opportunity to invest in the deeper development in the characters’ backstories using the crime as a means to highlight their personality traits, habits and idiosyncrasies. This book will answer questions that fans of the series have been pondering from the beginning. Like the volumes before it, this one does not disappoint in the “leave the reader with something to ponder” department. The questions, what makes us who we are as individuals and how can two people walk through the same set of circumstances and emerge very differently on the other end will stay with you long after the book is done. The plot line, twists and character interplay are classic McDermid. In the end, everything is wrapped up and while you walk away knowing who, what, when and why she still manages to end the book with a cliffhanger.
Do You like book Vatermord (2009)?
I didn't actually finish it, it's just not my kind of book so found it quite boring.
