About book Vanille Ou Chocolat ? (2012)

This is a very interesting book. Right from the start you are awed by the different colored tabs to the book. This is a choose your own adventure book. At first I was a little puzzled but not entertained with the different endings. The second time I picked up the book, I couldn’t stop trying out different routes. At first, I didn’t want to see what the Killitron could do as it would destroy the world. Even after I flipped through the book many times, I still didn’t read all the pages. So I actually flipped through all the pages just to see what possibilities there are. Not exactly how it should be read, but just couldn’t help it. Makes you wonder about life’s choices and the results. Not sure this book is for every child but it is definitely one for the curious and adventurous. I recommended this to a student on the basis of the recommendations given to us on Twitter by the author and illustrator of one of her favorite books. She returned it and said it was enjoyable, but she didn't really understand. I admit, neither did I! This is one of the most frustrating, confusing things I've ever read (including some of my philosophy reading in college!) but I thorougly enjoyed every minute of it. I've marked it as finished, but I'm not entirely sure I've read every possible route yet.
