What I enjoyed:-The character development of Michael throughout the novel-Michael and Ronan's relationship, and how it expanded--definitely a favorite couple of mine-Ronan's family, especially his sister and brother-The constant secrets and suspense that kept me on edge-The further expansion of the vampire lore Griffo has created (Love the riff on Atlantis!)-David and Brania-Jean-Paul-Phaedra-The cliffhanger endingOther then that this novel rocks Solid second entry in the "Archangel's Academy" series. Once a bullied gay teen from Nebraska, Michael Howard has become a powerful vampire, connected to the lost civilization of Atlantis. He has found new friends in the Archangel's Academy, and, most importantly, the love of his life, the equally powerful vampire Ronan. However, forces of darkness are moving to conspire against his joy and entire race. David Zachary, the charismatic leader of the evil vampires, has become the new Headmaster in the Academy and is serving an even more sinister force. He is preparing a horrific ritual on a pagan holiday, which will allow his race to become dominant in the immortal world. And because Ronan is keeping secrets from his boyfriend, Michael is nearly oblivious to the threat..."Unwelcome" is a well-written and interesting second part in the series, although the author needlessly added too many relationship into it. Still, the plot is very interesting, the heroes really nice and villain horrible. All of this makes "Unwelcome" a welcome addition to the library of fans of authors like Cassandra Clare or Sarah Rees Brennan.
