listened on library mp3. Most of the reader reviews miss the point of this novella: it's a black comedy and pretty funny at that. I wouldn't have expected Slaughter to write something like this, most of her stuff is so breathless, female-centered with "Perils of Pauline" endings. All the characters are obnoxious but funny. Read by a guy from Seinfeld, where most of the characters are self absorbed and flawed as well.Definitely worth a down load. Karin Slaughter writing a novella that doesn't feature depressing, gruesome murders! Martin is one of life's losers....who of course will be accused of a coworker's murder.Ms Slaughter seems to be trying for a humorous tone reminiscent of A Confederacy of Dunces. Maybe had the story been shorter, it might worked. As the first hour (this is an audio original) wore on, though, the shtick started getting tired. So did I.
Do You like book Unverstanden (2009)?
Very odd, but interesting. Wayne Knight did a great job on the narration.
