About book Untitled By George W. Bush (2014)

Thoroughly enjoyed this book about the 41st president. I've always felt that he has not been given the respect that he deserves for his place in history. Really good job by George W. Bush. One item of note: if you are looking for an objective, unbiased account of #41's presidency, look elsewhere. As George W. says in for foreword, this is a love story. It is a son describing the legacy of his father and the profound impact his life has had upon him. I am midway through this volume. The first chapter grabbed me immediately. There is a touching narration about 41's parachute jump on his 90th birthday as well as a little dialogue about the personality of the man - his personal values and his adoration of family. Then you move into descriptions of his military years and early business life. I am now in the section where is is vice president to Reagan. It has become a rehash of the history of America and the world during Bush's lifetime. Name-dropping is constant. At this point, I am feeling very little about the man except that he is honest and everyone likes him.The writing feels stilted and 43 takes every opportunity to promote his own story along the way.
