An emotional, scorching-hot affair erupts immediately between this pair of Type A, action-oriented people in undeniable consuming passion. The result is an off the charts, compelling and absorbing romance that is both powerfully sexual and tenderly soulful.The professional relationship between the beautiful, Italian private explosives expert, Isabella and the suave, sexy American security agent, Lane, is equally as effective and magnetic as the personal one. The story begins in Italy, where Lane begins to interview Isabella for a position in the unique private security firm, Nemesis. The interview quickly moves from the outdoor cafe to Bella's bedroom when a fiery carnal need overcomes them both. Bella is, of course accepted for the position. While involved in a bursting, heated affair, they are interrupted with the reality of their new assignment, which takes them on a non-stop, action filled dangerous adventure involving an international terrorist event. The two are tested to their physical and mental extremes by both their professional roles and their consuming, smoking hot need for one another over the course of their tasks.I loved this story. Everything about this intriguing, passion-filled thriller is exciting and fulfilling. It transported me into its exotic and lushly defined European setting and mood, while whirling me through an intense, incredibly exciting adventure. The plot in this suspenseful story is as complete and rewarding in its execution as any full-length novel, as is the romance and exquisitely done characterization. The writing here is over the top excellent. The only reason I didn't give this a Best Book rating was that there were a few small editing errors. That was certainly not enough to prevent my enjoyment of this dynamo of a tale. I don't know how the authors managed to pack so much into a short story. Not a word was wasted. I really fell in love with these characters. Especially Lane. He was the perfect lover in every way. He indulged Bella in the most loving and careful way with an exotic quality that was charming and intimate. At the same time, he was a passionate, strong alpha male who exerted his dominant nature with a gentle and controlled power and raging heat. This quote is an example of the intense passion and lust Lane has for Bella: “A savage need to take her to bed every other hour consumed him and just to look at her was becoming torture.”This book is entertaining in every way. It is my delight to recommend it and this series to everyone who likes an energetic tale of crime and suspense along with a power-packed, erotic romance. My hats off to Desiree Holt and Cerise Deland. I hope they continue with this promising and addicting series.Until Twilight is the second in the Nemesis series, and a great stand-alone read.
