Wow! Such an emotionally loving story. Both main characters were developed so well that you felt their pain, love and happiness.Alex had such bad luck in her life, but was still strong enough that she didn't let it determine her future. Hayden was a complicated guy and i really felt for him. At first i thought here we go with another egotisctical typical male, but as the story continued I understood his need to protect her form his live.Their situation was actually pretty realistic and a nice change from some of the recent books.It was emotional but not overly so. Ever since I read Clipped Wings, I've been in love with the name "Hayden". So, naturally I was already destined to love the guy in this book as well. In fact, these two books have a few similarities beyond the name. The characters in this book seem to have more drama though. The main character "Alex" has soo much happen to her in a very short period of time! It's likely most people would be in a padded cell after the crap she endures. I enjoyed being drawn in to the jib-jab and teasing banter of the relationship that blossomed between the two characters. Overall, this was a pretty good read, especially for a debut novel.
