About book Unglued: Making Wise Choices In The Midst Of Raw Emotions (2012)
One of the things I love most about Lysa TerKeurst is how she is able to relate to other women with her struggles which are our struggles as well. Her writing is transparent and based on real-life examples. I previously read her book, Crave, which I loved. Unglued was very good as well ... there were many things to reflect on but perhaps the one that hit closest to home today was "Comfort zones don't have to be comfortable - they're just familiar." ... Lord, isn't that the truth! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a easy read who needs a reminder that our emotions do not have to get the best of us; we are in control. Also, if you haven't checked out Crave, I highly recommend that as well. I absolutely love Lysa TerKeurst. I cannot express how much her books have led me to start giving myself some grace and mercy. I read this book with some friends and it was great to get together and discuss what we were learning. It really did get me starting to think before I come unglued - think about everything that surrounds the situation and show others some of that grace and mercy as well. I get stuck a lot in what is "right" and what is "wrong" and serving justice as I see it. God doesn't serve me justice when I absolutely deserve it, so why should I serve justice to others? What right do I have to do that? Instead, I can give others grace for their mistakes and speak kindly instead of flying off the handle. It's amazing how you start to see people noticing the difference in how you handle yourself and then you can only attribute that change to knowing God in such a deeper way.
