Left to take care of his 6 year old brother when he was still in high school, Bear has been getting by and is now, three years later, in a good place. He knows he can take care of the Kid and has an on again, off again girlfriend who helps him out. Until his best friend's big brother, Otter, return to town and shakes up his world. This had really likeable characters who are not perfect but doing the best they can. Told entirely from Bear's POV, the narration was engaging. Bear is a loyal loving character who puts his little brother first in his life and the reader feels his love for the Kid. He struggles to come out to his friends and really this went on too long and so my enjoyment of the story began to erode. Originally started out as a 4 star read but by the end I was skimming. I bought this book, despite the fact that the excerpt wasn't all that interesting and the title was a big turn off, because the glowing reviews. It took me a long time before gathering enough motivation to start reading it... but was it worth it!! This book is, to say the least, awesome. I won't go to the depth some of the reviewers went to, there's no need really. This story made me laugh and cry (a lot) and I didn't want it to end. The only thing that makes me forgive the author for not writing a never-ending story is knowing there's a sequel (2 actually). I recommend it, absolutely.
Do You like book Un Insolito Triangolo (2012)?
Will appeal to many but not what I am looking to read. well written though.
