About book Uma Canção De Embalar (2013)

This book was such a pleasure after reading "The Kite Runner" and "Franny and Zooey." It's a great mystery with good twists and characters. In fact, there are many characters, and I wondered how they were all going to be related. I also have a signed copy of this book that my father got for me when Mary Higgins Clark was at the book store in Mendham. I have always enjoyed Mary Higgins Clark's books and writing style. Kate Connelly calls a former worker at the antique furniture shop that her family owns to meet her late one evening. Suddenly there is an explosion. The police believe that Kate is responsible for helping to burn the building down to help collect the insurance money. It helps that she is gravely injured and can't talk to them at the time. This story continues along by bringing other people in and showing how they contribute to the story. Of course, by this being an Mary Higgins Clark book, there is a lot of twist and turns. I rated this book at a 4 because I thought that it was good, but not quite as good as some of her other ones. I would recommend it for anyone who likes to read as it is a fast read (once you actually do read it)!

Do You like book Uma Canção De Embalar (2013)?

I enjoyed this book. The writing style is easy to follow and I liked the story. The plot is light and not at all complex, but it kept my interest. When a family-owned furniture firm explodes into flames in the middle of the night, sisters Kate and Hannah stumble into a dark family secret. Kate was in the building when the fire broke out. Why was she there and why was Gus, a former employee, there with her? In addition to this plot, there is a sub-plot that also adds interest. I'd call this book summer reading in a positive way and I do recommend it.
