About book Uc The Meaning Of Matthew: My Son's Murder In Laramie, And A World Transformed (2009)

We must be aware of what is going on around us and in our world. Let us not be bystanders but participants in this gift of LIFE GOD has given us. Let us stand up, speak out, and react to things that are so wrong. This book reminds us of the same problem we have had throughout history; Injustices because prejudices. It is our responsibility to make changes when we see them, not turn a blind eye.Thank you for sharing Matthews Life with me.RoyLene C. Hill MATTHEW Shepard is synonymous with LGBT rights, hate crimes and senseless murders, but MATT Shepard was Judy and Dennis Shepard's boy and this book is Judy's account of her son's life and death. She doesn't portray Matt as a saint or a martyr - he's just her son. Sometimes irresponsible, sometimes worldly, he was a typical 21 year old. In death he became a cause and she tells that journey honestly and heartbreakingly.People looking for new info on the case should probably look elsewhere but if you want a story that will change how you look at equality and human rights then you've come to the right place. I can't help but be saddened for the potential lost because of Matt's death but at the same time heartened by the changes it's brought about in the world.
