First time in a long time I've done this, I stopped reading this book and will not be trying again. I RARELY don't finish a book. I've struggled since the beginning of this book.I know I'm in the minority here and maybe I just didn't like the writing style, but I found both the plot and prose juvenile at best, and as I'm not finishing this story I guess that says everything about how I felt about it at its worst. The story is a "hamster wheel" of twelve-year-old indecision and vindictiveness. How could she—how couldn't she. I always did—she never. He lied, I hate him...oh but maybe I trust him and still love him. And the hamster spins around...There is also NOTHING going on outside of the plot and counter-plot of love, hate and scheming. No sub-plots, no peripheral/secondary characters or even descriptions/scene setting to give the story some texture and depth (again, of which there is none in the main story line.) Our heroine is supposed to be a brilliant over-achiever who gave up her normal teen-age life to excel in academics? There is no possibility in anyone's imagination that a woman with all the supposed scholastic and emotional virtues and maturity of Willow, our heroine, would be as vapid and just plain stupid as this girl.I often say, and believe, that bad writing is totally overcome by a compelling story. That's the sad part of this. The plot is also diminished by poor grammar and a variety of forms of questionable sentence structure and word use. I was highlighting something that I either didn't understand, made no sense to me, or just sounded weird every couple of pages. I feel bad about writing such a scathing review...I would certainly welcome any rebuttal—maybe someone could enlighten me to the style of this novel so I could get some enjoyment out of another attempt to read it? WOW! What an interesting read Twinsequences was! It was dark and twisted & schmexy and romantic…what a combination!Love always finds it’s way right? Well Jennifer Foor shows us that here. Ivy and Willow are identical twins, and I mean identical…can’t tell them apart kind of thing. Willow is our main character who has always been in love with the schmexy leading man Stoshua.“Joshua was already taken.”Willow and Stosh were best friends through their last year of high school. They had pent up feelings and neither ever expressed it to the other. In swoops Ivy and steals Stosh away. The quick of it is Ivy becomes pregnant, they get married, and Willow moves away and breaks contact.Ivy calls and begs pathetically for Willow to help her, she won’t give her details, all she says is for Willow to pretend to be her, it’s life or death. Being the good sister Willow agrees, realizing that this means playing wife to Stosh. This is where the dark stuff comes in. I’m not one for spoilers so I’m going to try and do this without giving too much away. So many plot twists and so little time!Willow thinks something is wrong with her sister when she agrees to help. Well hot damn is she right…Ivy is one fucked up girl. She is evil to the core and she puts Willow and Stoshua through hell and back and then does it again.“I kept seeing that saying in my mind ‘The truth will set you free’. It wasn’t setting me free. It was making me go crazy.”…and I couldn’t agree with that more. I wanted to know the truth and was scared shitless to know what was happening. I was going insane trying to figure out this story. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t confusing to read there were just different story lines that would pop up and smack me in the face LOLThen of course there is the schmexy aspect of the book….where can I find Stoshua?? From how he is described (wavy hair, tan skin, blue eyes) I could go for some of that! I definitely saw the attraction that Willow had always had for him.“We made love all night ling, never taking each other for granted. He invaded my soul and I let him. I memorized the musky scent of his skin and the way he felt against my fingers.”Will true love prevail and evil be put down for good? Pick up Twinsequences today to find out then come back and tell me what you think
