The good parts were really good, and the less good parts were...flat. That said, I was enjoying the read right up until it was felt necessary to hammer home (repeatedly) Aurora's 'life lesson', that she learn to think about the needs of others. That didn't need pointing out, it certainly didn't need triple underscoring.Maybe this book just had too much thrown into it, denying Ms Gayle the opportunity to fully explore some of the issues, and the motivation of the characters, in greater and more convincing depth. A shame, because when this book sparkled, it was blindingly good. This story was ok all the way until the wedding. After that there was too many stupid and dumb reactions and actions between the characters. The writing was not checked. For instance, "the electricity she felt through out her body from his touch" was comical being that electricity hadn't even been invented at that time. How would she or anybody know what electrical feeling would be like? I was less impressed with the ending. I think a good editor or even a few bata readers would have been good for this story.
