My only complaint...and it's a minor one, because Bev Vincent definitely did his homework here, is that I would have enjoyed an even deeper dive into the books. Why did King choose the characters he did? Why did he take the story in that particular direction? That sort of thing. But that's the writer in me asking for that stuff. All in all, an enjoyable read and an informative look into the mind of Stephen King. A must-read for the King's fans.I've always gotten a *chuckle* out of readers (I hope they're 'readers' and not just the General Public) who ask Stephen King such an inane question as "where do you get your ideas?" He has, over the years, freely shared from whence his ideas pour. I grimace when people assume writers who produce strange works must be strange -- not always so. I used to follow Stephen King, reading about him, and his writing, in addition to his works, until I pondered whether I was becoming the MC in Misery, myself.Stephen King is a most interesting persona, in his own right, and I enjoyed this work given to me on one of my birthdays by a good friend and King fan himself. If you like most things 'Stephen King,' you might also enjoy his wife, Tabitha King, and her books, and his son's recent publications (see Joe Hill). It is great fun to stumble upon short pieces King has in periodicals like The New Yorker, too. King has given such a wealth of works to the Horror genre, many of my own personal favorites come from his collection of novellas and short stories. To say he only writes 'horror,' however, is a bit misleading. For me, what the author does is delve into the depths of those dark recesses, whether in our minds or elsewhere.
